Belated Blog

I must have hit "Save as Draft" instead of "Publish Post" on this:

Happy Easter All!
On a rainy Easter morning, after service at PBC with Jeff Ferrar speaking on Acts 3 (which I must admit, was much less repetitive than the oft used Resurection sermon). Steph and I shared our luncheon meal with some clearly pagan friends at Zuni Cafe in San Francisco.

I had baked eggs with cream and morels and pancetta, which were good, but lacking in comparison with our previous Sunday brunch at Foreign Cinema in the Mission. The much praised tall pile of shoestring potatoes failed to impress. It was pretty much In N Out fries, on crack, for $6. Frankly, my local favourite for overpriced fries is still Bistro Jeanty in Napa.

Our lunch at Foreign Cinema last weekend made me want to check out the dinner scene at the rather hip Mission spot. Zuni had a nice atmosphere, but the ambience was a bit on the yuppy side for me (although I probably fit right in the demographic).

After a rather relaxing afternoon (ignoring the mad rush of emails at work), I caught "A Love Song for Bobby Long", with the contstantly fetching Scarlett Johanssen, which works extremely well after a bottle of less than impressive Cigare Blanc. Please remind me that picking a bottle of wine based on the alien head icon on the cap is not a good idea.

I heard this song on the radio as we left church this morning. Somehow it seemed like a fitting Easter song, especially for those who don't find themselves at church on Easter morning.

"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"

I have climbed highest mountain
I have run through the fields
Only to be with you
Only to be with you

I have run
I have crawled
I have scaled these city walls
These city walls
Only to be with you

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

I have kissed honey lips
Felt the healing in her fingertips
It burned like fire
This burning desire

I have spoke with the tongue of angels
I have held the hand of a devil
It was warm in the night
I was cold as a stone

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for

I believe in the kingdom come
Then all the colors will bleed into one
Bleed into one
Well yes I'm still running

You broke the bonds and you
Loosed the chains
Carried the cross
Of my shame
Of my shame
You know I believed it

But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for
But I still haven't found what I'm looking for...
